Support Our Cultural Hub This Native American Heritage Month with Your Generous Donation

This Native American Heritage Month, show your support by donating to the Eastern Shoshone Cultural Hub project- rooted in the collective knowledge of living on the land since time immemorial, the Eastern Shoshone Tribe is building a multi-purpose facility to house a long-over due museum, with much-needed classroom space, along with the Archives and Enrollment departments, with an adequate repository for records and research rooms available for study, along with the Eastern Shoshone Tribal Historical Preservation Office, that presently has to store artifacts off site, preserving the intergenerational traditions unique to our tribe.

Your contribution helps us create a vibrant space dedicated to honoring and sharing the rich heritage of the Eastern Shoshone people, or Newe’.

Your donation supports our vision for the following reasons:

  • Cultural Preservation and Transmission: It serves as a vital repository for artifacts, stories, traditions, and languages, ensuring their survival and transmission to future generations. This helps maintain the tribe's unique identity and heritage.

  • Education and Awareness: Museums educate both tribal members and the wider public about the tribe's history, contributions, and contemporary life, combating stereotypes and fostering understanding.

  • Community Cohesion and Pride: By celebrating the tribe's past and present, a museum strengthens community bonds, instills pride among members, and provides a space for cultural activities and gatherings.

  • Economic Development: It can attract tourism, creating job opportunities and generating revenue for the tribe, which can be reinvested into other community initiatives.

  • Sovereignty and Self-Determination: A tribal museum allows the tribe to control its own narrative, presenting its history and culture from its own perspective, which is crucial for self-determination and asserting sovereignty.

  • Healing and Reconciliation: For many tribes, museums can play a role in addressing historical trauma by providing a space for truth-telling, remembrance, and community healing.

Your donation is an investment in the shared commitment to cultural preservation and education. Any amount helps.
